I ordered some minky in various colors since I've heard so many good things about it. I have to say, I love the stuff. It's so soft! Much easier to work with than fleece, too.

I modified my pattern a little bit after making Derpy, and I'm still not completely happy with it, but it's getting there. I think the neck is a little too thin, and the head still isn't quite right. G4 ponies have such strangely shaped heads, it's frustrating. Also I think I should have put less stuffing in her mane, it's a little too poofy. Overall though, I'm pleased.

As with Derpy, Applejack's eyes and cutie mark are felt, applied with industrial-strength hot glue. The felt for her eyes is painted with acrylic paints. Her hat is also felt, though I could not for the life of me find felt in light brown, so she has a dark brown hat. Sue me.
